For compliance and GRC engineering

Coordinate compliance work without chasing every team.

Give every team the same control action or attestation as a Jira issue, see who has completed it, and follow up automatically before the audit window.

Jira tracks the tickets. Armada tracks the rollout.

Armada

67% complete4 of 6 teams done

Search needs attention. Not started, review closes in 5 days.

A quarterly access review in Jira fanned out to six teams. Armada rolls them up: 67% complete, and Search needs attention.

The problem

The control is simple. Collecting it from every team is not.

Access reviews, policy acknowledgements, secrets rotation, backup restore tests: each one is a small task for a team and a large coordination job for whoever owns the control.

  • The evidence scramble

Two weeks before the audit window, you find out which teams never completed the review.

  • One email, forty replies

Responses arrive in email, chat and spreadsheets, and someone has to reconcile them.

  • Chasing is the job

Most of the effort goes into reminding the same teams, not reviewing what they did.

  • No shared record

When the auditor asks how the request went out and who followed up, the answer is scattered.

The outcome

Every team has the task in Jira, and you have the status in one place.

  • Each team gets the same task

One launch puts the control action in every team's Jira project, with the same instructions and deadline.

  • Completion you can report

See which teams are done, in progress or not started, without a reconciliation spreadsheet.

  • Automatic follow-up

Auto-nudge comments on tasks that have gone idle, so you stop sending reminder emails.

  • A record of the campaign

Launches, approvals and reminders are kept in Armada's audit log for 180 days and export as CSV. Team responses stay on their Jira issues.

The workflow

From control owner to complete, every quarter.

  1. Keep the team list

Map every team to its Jira project once, and reuse it each quarter.

  2. Write the request once

Describe the control, what counts as done, and the deadline in one parent issue.

  3. Launch to all teams

Armada creates the task in each team project. Launches above a threshold can require approval.

  4. Follow up and close

Track completion, let reminders go out automatically, and export the audit log when you need it.

Questions

Before you install

Does Armada make us compliant with a framework?

No. Armada coordinates the work your controls require. Your compliance program and auditors decide what evidence is sufficient.

Where does the evidence live?

On each team's Jira issue: comments, attachments and status history, like any other Jira work. Armada's audit log records the coordination around it.

Is the data stored outside Atlassian?

No. Armada is built on Atlassian Forge and stores its data in Atlassian's Forge storage for your site. It runs no external servers.

Can non-engineering teams take part?

Yes, as long as they have a Jira project. Each team is mapped to the project where its work should land.

Run your next control campaign from Jira.

Install Armada, add the teams that must respond, and launch the request from its parent issue.
